10 Essential Tips for Beginners

1.)Please arrive at least 5 minutes early.

2.)Keep in mind to wear long pants and closed toe shoes with a 2 inch heel. 

​

3.)Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during your ride! 

​

4.) Walk in the barn. Do not run! 

​

5.) Do not stand or walk behind the horses!

​

6.)Give treats out of the flat of your hand or in a feed bucket.

7.)When the horses ears are back that means the horse is mad or upset. 

​

8.)Approach the horse at it's shoulder not it's head. 

​

9.)Stand on your feet, do not kneel under a horse!

​

10.)Use your voice to let your horse know where you are.

​

11.) Saddling/brushing/etc must be done in the cross ties ONLY.

​

12.)When moving a horse always use a halter and lead rope.

​

13.) Please respect the instructor during classes. If you can not watch quietly please sit in the viewing room.
